Programming Quantum Computers

Class Details
This course will introduce the basic concepts of quantum computing and provide experience with the programming language Qiskit, a Python-based software development kit that can interface with IBM Quantum computers. No programming or quantum experience is necessary, only a desire to tinker with code and learn a bit about qubits. Students will complete a series of lessons on quantum computing, then work on projects of their own, and write short (1 page) abstracts and/or give presentations summarizing their projects at the end of the course.

Unit Notes:
Will Kirby '17 is a third-year PhD candidate in Physics at Tufts University, and an NSF graduate research fellow. His research focuses on quantum algorithms for quantum simulation, and he is excited to share some fun with qubits this Winter study!
