Class Details

How many of you have always wanted to write a novel, but never managed to find the time? This course will give you the chance to do just that. Inspired by National Novel Writing Month, participants in this class will be challenged to complete a significant portion of a novel over the course of Winter Study. We will hold meetings four days a week for three-hour intervals to blitz write text for our respective creative projects. Over the course of these meetings, we will may spend some time informally discussing the craft of creative writing, but our primary focus will simply be putting words down on the page every day. Although no formal experience with creative writing is required, students should come into the class prepared to begin writing and with at least some vague idea of the work they wish to produce. Students interested in using the class to complete other equivalent length writing projects (such as screenplays, memoirs, etc) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
