The course will primarily consist of a close reading of “Paradise Lost,” though we will look at few of Milton’s earlier works. Readings will include “Comus,” “Lycidas,” and “Paradise Lost”, some sonnets, and some passages from “Areopagitica.”

two five page essays; one 10 page essay; several short response essays and 10% of grade is on participation

Prerequisites:
a 100-level ENGL course, or a score of 5 on the AP English Literature exam, or a score of 6 or 7 on the Higher Level IB English exam
