Class Details

This course will focus on developing two specific areas integral to the actor’s craft: process and aesthetic. Different approaches towards the development of an actor’s process will be examined: such as self-care, warming-up, character development, rehearsal etiquette and performance ritual. Scene study in a range of styles and genres, from classical to contemporary, Becket to Deavere Smith, “outside in” to “inside out” will be utilized to develop and identify each actors unique aesthetic. In addition to committed participation in class, students will be expected to complete some modest reading and writing assignments.
