Class Details

This course is an introduction to the technical and conceptual elements of digital photography. Students will learn the mechanics of the camera, digital workflow, image editing and inkjet printing, all in the service of making art. A foundation in the technical aspects of digital photography will be paired with art-historical slideshows and group critiques that provide a grounding in the visual language and vocabulary of fine art photography. The course will culminate with each student conceiving and creating a portfolio of photographs that wields technical skill to realize personal vision.
