ENGL 283 Fall 2013 Introductory Workshop in Fiction

An introduction to the basics of writing short fiction. Exercises, short assignments, and discussion of published fiction will be combined with workshops of student stories; individual conferences with the instructor will be available.
Class Format: seminar
Requirements/Evaluation: regular attendance and active participation; successful completion of assigned exercises and two story drafts for workshop discussion; a final portfolio of at least 30 pages of revised fiction
