This tutorial examines race, gender, sexuality, and intimacy and violence in American political culture. Study begins with the late 19th century anti-lynching and anti-sexual violence campaigns, and explores writings and movements throughout the 20th and early 2lst centuries that constructed or challenged stereotypes about race, sex, and black identity.
