Class Details

This course focuses on major developments in contemporary art practice over the last two decades and key methods that have developed to elucidate these practices. As we explore various critical frameworks used to interpret and analyze contemporary art, both studio and history majors will focus on expanding critical vocabularies and developing analytical skills in a manner that takes into account both theory and practice. Throughout this process we will also critically examine the changing definitions and roles of artist, critic, curator, and audience.
