Class Details

This course is centered on the body and aims to activate all the senses, the energy within the body, emotions, voice and imagination. Students will explore how to enter a state of freedom and control, which is useful for any profession as it gets people to dive into their authenticity, and to gain ownership of their original qualities. The training of this class consists of physical and grounding techniques, physical and vocal training, exploration of impulses, ensemble work, improvisation, exploring words and ownership of text, building a character and elements of performance.

Requirements/Evaluation: evaluation will be based on committed participation in class, preparation and performance of assigned material, and some modest written assignments

Enrollment Preferences: students who have taken THEA 101 or THEA 102
Unit Notes: this course (or THEA 204) is not intended for first-years but is required for the Theatre major; first-years considering the Theatre major should enroll in THEA 102
